RCMP find squatter with loaded guns, brass knuckles, heroin

A person squatting in a home near Prince George has had a number of charges laid against him related to firearms.

Last Friday, RCMP received a report of unwanted persons at a residence in Salmon Valley, BC, about 30 kms north of the city.

When officers attended the scene, they found people were squatting there and were refusing to open the door. Once officers were able to enter the building, they removed a lone male occupant and obtained a search warrant.

A search found two loaded firearms, a pistol and a long gun, an unloaded long gun, brass knuckles, ammunition, and small amounts of cocaine, psilocybin, and heroin/fentanyl. The man was arrested for firearms offences.

  • Possession of a loaded firearm (2 counts)

He is scheduled to make his next appearance in court on June 5th.  The female was released without charges.
