The Prince George Hospice Society put on its 29th annual Antique Fair and Marketplace this weekend.
With the goal of eclipsing last year’s total of $15,000, the event is expected to see 2,500 people stroll through the Prince George Roll-A-Dome over the course of the two-day event, as roughly 100 vendors have their knickknacks on display.
People of all ages were able to set their sight on just about everything from trading cards to coins, and silverware to furniture.
It was a true depiction that the term ‘antique’ knows no bounds.
“It’s different for everyone,” said Donna Flood, Executive Director for the Prince George Hospice Society. “Really, I think it’s whatever somebody feels a little bit of nostalgia or something that brings memories of the past.”
Flood adds when she first started running the event four years ago the event was bringing in approximately $6,000 dollars, making last year’s $15,000 quite the achievement for the organization.
With that money, the Hospice Society is then able to provide the care at the Rotary Hospice House.
Every year, the need for funds increases with the Hospice Society in Prince George needing to raise $1.4 million dollars in 2019.
The event runs until Sunday, wrapping up at 4 p.m.
