Matéj Toman has found himself as one of 19 forwards being named to the Czech Republic’s selection camp roster for the upcoming 2019 Hockey U18 World Championships in Sweden.
The 18-year-old finished 10th in Cougars scoring this past season, as he compiling nine goals and 11 assists in 66 games.
In 2017, Toman won a bronze medal at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, BC. He was also a member of the Czech Republic team at last year’s Hlinka-Gretzky Cup.
The 2019 Men’s World Under-18 Hockey Championship is from April 18 to 28, with games being played in the Swedish cities of Örnsköldsvik and Umeå.
The Prince George Cougars selected Toman 5th overall in the 2018 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.
