Climb for Cancer less then month away

The 4th Annual Climb for Cancer presented by Carrier Lumber is hoping for its biggest year yet.

Chair of the Climb for Cancer Committee, David Duck said they are anticipating between 500 to 550 people this year.

“We look at it as a fun event to include all the family and its just a great way to spend an hour or two on the cutbanks for a worthy cause.”

All the money raised will go to support the Kordyban Lodge, a place for people to stay when they come to Prince George for cancer treatment.

“Typical operating expenses for a month are $80,000, so we would like to provide enough money for a typical operating month.”

The Kordyban Lodge is a home away from home for people battling cancers, offering amenities to make their stay as comfortable as possible.

Duck said all ages are welcome with the youngest climber being 2-years-old and oldest 79.

The event kicks off Saturday, April 27, from 12 noon to 4.p.m. at the Northern Lights Winery.
