The Prince George Chamber of Commerce president said the new board is going to continue to make sure northern business have a voice.
Lorna Wendling is returning as president of PGCC for a second term with a commitment to build on the work of the last board.
“One of the things we have been working on is to be a uniting factor for the northern chambers in the area. It’s very important for us to be united because we have a much lower population and sometimes not as loud a voice as our collogues in the Lower Mainland.”
She said given the current political climate with the employer’s health tax and the LNG project it’s essential the Chamber can advocate for Prince George businesses.
The new board is made up of 10 returning members and five new.
Wendling said the mix of new and returning members will be a help moving forward.
“It’s always great to have the voice of experience on the board but it’s easy for boards to get stale so I am very excited to have some skilled and talented people joining us who will bring a different perspective and different set of skills.”
