PUBLIC LIBRARY TO HOST LOCAL HISTORY AWARDS SUNDAY

By Ethan Ready

The 34th Annual Jeanne Clarke Local History Awards will be held at the Prince George Public Library on Sunday, February 24.

Established in 1985 in memory of the former Library Board chair, the awards are presented annually to individuals or groups for outstanding contributions in the preservation and promotion of local and regional history in the categories of Publication and Service.

Jeanne Clarke was a founding member of the library’s Local History Committee, playing a key role in establishing the library’s local history collection.

The doors open for the event will open at 6:00 p.m. at the Bob Harkins Branch, with the program getting underway shortly after 7:00 p.m.

Refreshments will be provided.
