Prince George’s first legal BC Cannabis shop is moving on to the next level of approval.

A public hearing was held at city council’s meeting last night, after which they voted unanimously to continue to a final reading.

Bruce Wiebe, former school board trustee and retired teacher, brought up some concerns about the location as well as the effects of cannabis.

Despite his worries, council thought the proposal was a thorough one and followed through with a vote to move forward.

Council also voted to advance to a public hearing on an application for a private cannabis retail store in the old Sears department store location in Pine Centre Mall.
