Break & Enter leads to arrest of PG man

One man has been arrested and faces multiple charges after a break & enter and shots fired last week.

Just after 2 AM on January 11th, Prince George RCMP responded to the B&E complaint at a motel on the 1600 block of Central Street. Upon arrival, they found two male suspects drive away in a white pick-up. Indications were that the two men were wearing masks and had forcibly entered a room with one having a firearm. It is believed the motel room was unoccupied at the time of the break-in.

Initial efforts to pull over the truck were unsuccessful and sightings led officers to believe it was in the College Heights area. At about 2:25 AM, a snow removal contractor working in the area reported a white pick-up was stuck in the snow near the intersection of Domano Boulevard and Malaspina Avenue, and that one occupant had fired shots. Both occupants had fled on foot by the time police arrived.

The RCMP’s Police Dog Service and Emergency Response Team were called to assist and the dog team began tracking the suspects along the Domano Forest Service Road. Two firearms, a loaded semi-automatic rifle and an unloaded SKS style semi-automatic rifle with a bayonet attached, were found during the track. At approximately 4:45 AM, one of the suspects was found and taken into custody without incident.

Pride Dawson Moore, 28, of PG faces eleven charges including:

• Break & Enter with Intent;
• Discharge Firearm with Intent;
• Wear Disguise with Intent;
• Flight from Police;
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device;
• Possession of a Firearm Knowing Possession is Unauthorized;
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm;
• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose;
• Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order;
• Possession of an Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order; and
• Possession of a Firearm Knowing Serial Number is Tampered

Moore has been remanded in custody until at least his next court appearance, scheduled for January 23rd.

The investigation continues as police look to identify and locate the second male suspect. RCMP believe this was a targeted incident related to the drug trade. No injuries were reported.
