WATCH:
“Pink in the Rink” at CN Centre is right around the corner as the Prince George Cougars look to clip the wings of the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Puck Drop is at 7 PM on Saturday and will feature one of the team’s Mega 50/50 Jack Pot nights, the Cougars will also be wearing special pink jerseys.
The entire evening speaks to the philosophy of the Cougars
“We want to win the game but we also want to have everybody win, one lucky fan is hopefully going to walk out with a fat wallet full of cash and the Canadian Cancer Society is going to win as they are hopefully going to get a big fat donation from the Cougars Society as a result of the mega jackpot.”
The pot will start at $20,000 starting at noon on gameday with several businesses handing free 50/50 tickets for the first 2,000 fans that are 19 years or older.
Beesley expects the fans to have a reaction to the new pink jerseys they will be playing with that will eventually be auctioned off later on.
“The players are going to be wearing these cool looking pink jerseys, they are not anything we have had in past years, we’ve gone a little bit edgy and either you’re going to love them or hate them. They will be auctioned off and get this, only 30 have been made on this planet and people are going to have a chance through silent auctions to win these jerseys.”
The Cougars are 2-5-0-1 during their first home games of the season.
