Her ticket was drawn of the 9,990 sold as the Prince George Hospice Dream Home Lottery. Executive Director Donna Flood says they sold out at the last second.
“I budget our work based on a sellout in order to provide the care we do. This means we don’t have to go out begging for money, we’re able to provide the service that we do and to allow my staff to do the remarkable work they do.”
The $588,000 home is over 3,300 square feet with five bedrooms and four bathrooms.

As for the lottery moving forward, Flood says that remains up in the air.
“We don’t know, we have to review what happened this year and all of that sort of stuff and we make decisions on whether it’s something we are going to enter into again. Every year is a risk but every year it’s well worth it.”
Another big winner earlier in the week was Louise Nickerson, who took home a cool $126,225 from the lottery’s 50/50 draw.
