UPDATE: The lights are back on for around 400 Prince George residents.
BC Hydro Spokesperson Bob Gammer says a dump truck drove into power lines around First and George this morning.
“It knocked out customers in about half of the downtown area,” Gammer says.
Gammer says power was restored just before 8:30.
Areas throughout Prince George are in the dark this morning.
BC Hydro says a motor vehicle collided with a pole and became tangled in wires, knocking out power for around 430 customers from an area east of Alward St, north of Cuddie Crescent, south of 1st Avenue, west of Highway 16.
They estimate power to return around 9 a.m.
