Eight long guns, along with ammunition, have been stolen recently in Prince George.
Since October 8th, Prince George RCMP has received four reports of firearms being stolen from vehicles parked at or near local hotels. RCMP say the vehicles appear to be owned by hunters. In most cases, windows are being smashed to allow thieves to take the guns and, in one case, a vehicle had been left unlocked.
All thefts happened during the night at various hotels throughout the city. Police are reminding hunters to ensure their firearms and ammunition are being properly stored by taking them into their hotel room at night. Hotel staff are also being asked to advise patrons of this.
Anyone with information about the thefts or persons responsible is asked to contact PG RCMP or Crimestoppers.
