Domestic violence survivor to talk about book in PG

An international speaker against domestic violence is coming to Prince George.

Domestic violence survivor Kamal Dhillon’s book, I am Kamal: Survivor to Thrivor, highlights the will to keep moving forward with courage and forgiveness despite living through severe domestic violence. She also celebrates the power of the human spirit.

“Prince George has had the pleasure of hosting Kamal Dhillon as a keynote speaker at the Healing Through Learning Conference in 2016,” said Krista Levar, RCMP Victim Services Coordinator and Conference Organizer, in a statement.

“We would like to invite the public to come and listen to Kamal’s inspirational words of courage at this event. Domestic Violence is faced by many people and bearing witness to the experiences of someone who has been through a harrowing and serious threat to her life and has survived is powerful.”

PG RCMP Victim Services and the Elizabeth Fry Society will host Dhillon at the Prince George Public Library in the Keith Gordon Room on Tuesday, October 23rd, from 12pm to 2pm. The event is free to attend.
