PG firefighters respond to VLA tree fire

Update 10:49 AM

Firefighters confirmed this morning that it was a tree fire they responded to at the back of the house.

It was not classified as a structure fire in nature and no further information will be released.

A tree caught fire in the VLA area of Prince George.

According to witnesses, a blaze broke out around 4:40PM today at a residence near Victoria Street and Strathcona Avenue.

PG firefighters are on-scene along with other first responders.

Neighbors have confirmed to My Prince George Now that the home was empty at the time it first started.

We’ll bring more information as it becomes available.
