It’s going to be an exciting night in Prince George City Council chambers on the last meeting before the October 20th election.
The big-ticket item, of course, will be cannabis.
Council will be making third reads on regulations, licenses, and bylaws just two days before legalization in Canada.
The Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) is presenting twice; the first is for a $15,000 grant to finance development and implementation of an “age-friendly project,” if approved, city staff will work with the Prince George Council of Seniors to implement the initiative.
They will also be asking for the city’s support in the Community Emergency Preparedness Fund – Emergency Social Services grant application in the amount of $10,000 to host and participate in the 7th Annual 2019 Northern Emergency Social Services Training (NESST) Conference.
There will also be a presentation on the new Physical Literacy for Communities – British Columbia (PL4BC) Initiative, Rob Whitwham will be seeking resolution in regard to supporting Prince George as a Canadian Sport for Life Community.
