First weekend of Operation Red Nose a quiet one

Operation Red Nose has had a successful first weekend in Prince George.

113 rides were provided over the two nights, a number that is a bit lower than expected, but can be attributed to the cold weather.

Spokesperson Andrea Johnson says it will get busier as we get closer to Christmas and New Years;

“We definitely anticipate it getting busier. We actually had to send teams home on Friday just because the volume wasn’t there, which is a good thing. We will have more teams on standby this weekend and as we head into Christmas, so volunteers are still needed.”

Right now they have 190 volunteers signed up, and each night of service requires 60-80 volunteers.
