UPDATE – 10:45AM:
Drive BC says Highway 97 has re-opened in the South Cariboo.
Around 9AM, an accident closed the road almost 10-kilometres north of 70 Mile for nearly two hours.
There are still no details on how the collision happened or if anyone has been injured.
There is also fresh snow on the ground in the South Cariboo and drivers are being asked to proceed with caution.
Winter tires should also be on all vehicles as of today when driving on provincial highways.

ORIGINAL STORY:
Highway 97 is closed south of 100 Mile House due to a motor vehicle incident this morning.
According to Drive BC, the incident happened before 9AM nine-kilometres north of 70 Mile.
No details have been released at this point, including what may have caused the collision, but Clinton RCMP are on scene.
Drive BC adds there is a detour available from 83 Mile Road to North Green Lake Road, and then to North Bonaparte Road to Highway 97 at 70 Mile.
