October 20th is general voting day for Prince George residents, which also includes School District 57 (SD57), and the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George (RDFFG).
Nearly a dozen candidates are campaigning for one of seven spots on SD57’s Board of Trustees, only three of whom are incumbents.

Among those running are (in alphabetical order):
- Betty Bekkering
- Tim Bennett (Incumbent)
- Trent Derrick
- Sarah Holland
- Trudy Klassen
- Allan Kranz
- Ron Polillo
- Stephanie Mikalishen-Deol
- Corey Walker
- Sharel Warrington (Incumbent)
- Bruce Wiebe (Incumbent)
In addition to those based in the Northern capital, and unlike previous years, the District has adopted the electoral system, separating SD57’s map into three specific areas:
- Prince George Trustee Electoral Area 1
- Mackenzie Trustee Electoral Area 2
- Robson Valley Trustee Electoral Area 3
In Mackenzie, the elected trustee, overseeing all areas north of Bear Lake and McLeod Lake, has already been decided with Shuirose Valimohamed by acclamation.
Out east, the lone position in the Robson Valley has a two-person election; Harold Edwards and Bob Thompson.

For the RDFFG, with three positions already won by acclamation, four of the seven electoral areas will be voted on with two people in each race.
- Electoral Area C (Chilako River-Nechako) = Lara Beckett & Colin Clyne
- Electoral Area F (Willow River-Upper Fraser Valley) = Kevin Dunphy & Joe Rositano
- Electoral Area G (Crooked River-Parsnip) = James Clefstad & Pat Crook
- Electoral Area H (Robson Valley-Canoe) = Dannielle Alan & Ben Hunter
Warren Wilson, Bill Empey, and Art Kaehn have been elected to areas ‘A,’ ‘D,’ and ‘E’ respectively.
Voting day runs from 8AM to 8PM on Saturday, October 20th.
