Navigation system back online at YXS – just in time for massive snow

It has been a stressful couple of days at the PG Airport.

The airport is warning flights could be delayed because of the heavy snow.

Yesterday, flights were delayed and cancelled due to a malfunction of their nav weather system.

This morning, Spokesperson Lindsay Cotter says that issue has been fixed and the 6 a.m. Air Canada flight departed on time.

“The majority of the work has been completed and the information that pilots need that’s pertinent to safety and operations is coming through on their systems,” she says. “Everything is looking like it should be running smoothly, now we just have to wait and see what mother nature has in store for us, today.”

Cotter advises travellers to check their website – PGAirport.ca for the latest flight info before heading out.
