UNBC student committee wants free transit during CWG

Students with the UNBC sustainability committee are aiming to save the city some pollution come Winter Games time.

The students are leading a charge which will see fundraisers with the goal of free transit during the games.

Eryn Beddoes is one of the students with the movement, and says its quite obvious why its necessary:

“The reasons for doing it are plentiful, there’s an obvious environmental aspect to it – that we are going to improve air quality, and reduce the amount of cars on the road. You’re getting people a safe way to get in and around the city and go to the venues but also go downtown and check out all the establishments that Prince George has to offer”

Beddoes says they have been canvassing local businesses as well, hoping to raise the $2100 dollars a day the city will recoup from revenue lost.

Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
