Nasty weather is sure to cause problems on Prince George’s streets and ICBC wants you know that you have easy options to file your claim.
Safety Coordinator – Diana Pozer says if no one was injured in your accident, you don’t even need to take your vehicle to their office on 15th Ave., you can just enter you claim by phone or online.
“You need to tell them where and when your crash happened, the licence plate number of each vehicle involved, driver’s licence numbers of each driver, insurance information vehicles not insured by ICBC, your preferred auto-body shop, and the police file number if it’s been a serious crash, theft, or vandalism,” she explains.
“There’s no real reason to come to the claim centre,” Pozer says. “Unless there’s been an injury, in that case you would be filing a different claim.”
However she points out that the best thing to do is avoid an accident in the first place by either driving safely, or not driving at all.
“When we get this kind of weather, consider some alternatives,” she says. “You can carpool, or take the bus, or a taxi, or if you’re able to work from home, that’s another great idea, if you can wait out for the roads to clear, that’s a good option as well,” she says.
If you do get into a fender-bender and there aren’t any injuries, you can dial a claim, press – 1 – 800 – 910 – 4222, or go online – ICBC.com.
