Annual BC Day party to be hosted at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park

The Knights of Columbus Society is hosting its annual party in the Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park for BC Day.

Longtime DJ David Mothus is spinning for the last time at this event after 20 years.

“I still love doing it but it’s kind of hard when people see you DJing, I run a financial company so it confuses clients when they see the guy handling their wealth out playing music for kids. I would honestly DJ into my 60’s if I could get away with it but it affects my business.”

Although he’s hanging it up there are plenty of memories to look back on.

“Two years ago I decided I was going to give $100 pize away for the hula hoop contest from my own money. This little boy won it and he cried on stage. He was so happy he had won. That little boy went up to the hospital with his mother and donated it because that is what he wanted to do with it.”

The event has a hula hoop contest where the winner will take home a $250 grand prize, free food, games, and an auction for a camper truck.

The party starts at 12PM and runs until 4pm on Monday.
