Liberal MLA Mike Morris responds to accommodation expense accusations

Conservative leader Dan Brooks made comments earlier this week regarding Liberal MLA Mike Morris’ spending habits when it came to accommodations for legislature meetings.

On Thursday Morris fired back, saying that Brooks needs to fully understand the numbers:

“So I’ve got an apartment that is five minutes walk from the legislature. The downtown core like this and close to the legislature in particular is in high demand so rental rates are probably a little bit higher than what Mr. Brooks has depicted”

On Wednesday Brooks released a report stating that Morris spent nearly $10,000 on accommodations in 23 legislative sitting days.

Morris says he is well within established spending guidelines, and doesn’t believe he has anything to apologize for.
