PG resident dead following plane crash west of Lillooet

A 20-year-old Prince George man is dead following a plane crash west of Lillooet.

Just before 1PM yesterday (Wednesday), RCMP were notified about a small float plane that went down on Tyaughton Lake in Gold Bridge.

According to witnesses the plane plunged into the water shortly after take off.

A 20-year-old Williams Lake man who was piloting the plane managed to make it out of the wreckage on his own. He was transferred to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The body of a 29-year-old man from Aldergrove, believed to be the 3rd passenger, was recovered by the BC RCMP Underwater Recovery Team.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
