Local hydroponic companies are getting ready to see an influx of residents interested in growing marijuana in their homes when it becomes legal.
“Sales will be increased because a lot of people will want to try and grow four plants,” says Brian Frost, Owner of Grow King Hydroponics and Gardening in Prince George.
The federal bill C-45 on legal cannabis allows Canadians to grow four plants per household across the nation. This might be something residents will try to do because they’ll have the option to, added Frost.
“Because it is a lucrative crop, I’d guess you say, a lot of people put a lot of extra effort into making sure it is grown to its optimum potential. But it is a fairly easy plant to grow.”
Frost says people would only have to spend $1,000 to get the equipment needed to cultivate the plant.
The legalization date is October 17th.
