The province wide launch for Operation Red Nose was held in Prince George this morning at the new Canada Games Plaza.
On New Year’s Eve, Red Nose in PG is expected to give its 10,000th ride after 19 years of operation in Prince George. Red Nose has provided 1.9 million rides home in 99 communities across Canada since its inception in 1984.
Local spokesperson Andrea Johnson says they still need volunteers;
“Right now volunteers aren’t going too bad. We have about 148 at the last count, but we would like 400 so we can meet demand this year”
She added that they need volunteers for various roles ranging from drivers and navigators to call takers.
Any and all donations the drivers receive go to help amateur sport in Prince George.
