Lyn for the win in Prince George

Lyn Hall is the next mayor of Prince George.

He defeated Don Zurowski by a margin of 54% to 46%.

Hall’s volunteers made 34k phone calls to Prince George residents over the past 20 days. Lyn says he believes that was a big difference maker for him;

“We knew early on that we would have to connect with a lot of people. We felt that if we could hit that 34 mark that was going to make the difference and it did… From two perspectives; us being able to identify our support and being able to get that support out”

Throughout the campaign Hall said he wanted to assign councilors in liaison roles to community stakeholders. That is first his to do list;

“The first actual piece of business is going to be establishing the committee structure I talked about during the campaign. We’ll have that happening is the first couple weeks after our inaugural on December 1st”

Hall’s acceptance speech called this “a dream come through” for him. He thanked various supporters, family and friends calling his campaign “grassroots” and powered by volunteers and diversity.

Voter turnout was pegged at 34%, up from 28.5% in 2011.
