Two PG schools drop in annual secondary school report card ranking

The Fraser Institute has released it’s annual report card on British Columbia’s Secondary Schools.

The study ranked 253 public and independent schools based on seven indicators using results from exams grade-to-grade transition rates, and graduation rates.

In Prince George, most schools were up in their overall average except for Duchess Park and Prince George Secondary School.

Over the past five-years, Duchess Park was ranked 144 out of 246. They fell to 164 out of 253 in 2017.

PGSS was ranked 196 out of 246 the last five years, they dropped to 227 out of 253 in 2017.

Although the graduation rate and average exam mark stayed relatively the same, the percentage of exams failed did climb in both schools.

With the exception of those two schools, the other three secondary schools climb in the rankings:

School: Rank 2016/17: Last Five Years:
College Heights: 87/235 155/246
DP Todd: 169/235 181/246
Kelly Road: 182/253 220/246
