Around 300 people came out to CNC Thursday night for the final debate before Saturday’s election.
Council hopeful Ron Gallo came away feeling the event was just as important for him as it was for voters who have a lot of candidates to choose from.
“There are so many names out there, this is going to be very tough for the voters,” he says. “There are a lot of people that are very passionate about the city, I’m one of them, but it comes down to the voter’s choice and who they feel most comfortable with.”
A big topic of the debate was Initiatives Prince George and their ability to attract new residents to the city.
Candidate Jillian Merrick feels their marketing has been solid, but has lost their way with their main role in economic development.
“The Move-Up Prince George campaign has been absolutely on-par, it;s a good project for this year and I hope next year that we can focus a little bit more on the numbers and what it’s actually going to take to attract small business residents and new economic opportunities in Prince George.”
Voters can head to the following locations on Saturday to cast their ballot for one Mayor, eight Councillors, and seven School Trustees.
Blackburn Community Centre.
John McInnes Centre.
DP Todd Secondary.
Edgewood Elementary.
Kelly Road Secondary.
Malaspina Elementary.
