A survey has been released to if people know about recycling options in our region.
The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is gathering feedback on whether residents know about stewardship programs.
“What we are gathering data on is those programs that already exist. Things like light bulbs, electronics, but other things like medication, cellphones, batteries, oil, anti-freeze. Those type of products that people are already paying either an Eco-fee for or a consumer is somehow already paying for a recycling program,” says Waste Division Program Leader Laura Zapotichny.

Bringing more awareness to these types of programs helps avoid unnecessary products from going to the landfill adds Zapotichny.
“We want to encourage residents and put out that knowledge and work with the agencies that are responsible for developing these programs, to let residents know that there is multiple opportunities to recycle different items in Prince George.”
The Regional District will use the information to provide education and access to their programs offered.
The survey is opened until the 15th and is only available online at www.sortsmart.ca
