The Prince George cougars and Ridgeline Roofing announced the nomination deadline for the “Pay it Forward, Welcome Home Project”
May 31st will be the last day for families, or anyone who knows of a family in need, to submit applications for a chance to be selected to receive a brand new home and property.
Vice President for the Cougars, Andy Beesley says this initiative is a way for people to be proud of their community and how it gives back.
“For the family itself it is going to be a life changer and game changer, possibly the best thing that has happen to them in their life. The ripple effects of this are that the community’s feelings towards what we are doing and what all these like minded businesses and partners are doing, that contributes to making Prince George a great place to live.”
Several local businesses have joined the project to help chip in with costs.
“[I was] a little bit surprised at how quick it happened,” says Josh Eiswerth Ridgeline Roofing Owner. “Within a week everything was almost accounted for and almost all the material was either donated or discounted.”
Eiswerth added they started a GoFundMe page for anyone who wants to be involved.
They hope to raise $200,000 to pay for property and other costs.
