The third “Climb for Cancer” event in Prince George saw over 400 people come out and walk up the cutbanks to raise money.
The fundraiser is for the “kordyban lodge”, which supports people dealing with cancer treatment in the city. The organization is hoping to raise over $100,000.
Devon Flynn climbed the cutbanks 15 times last year, because he feels doing it as many times as you can is the right thing to do.
“I know there are some people who are going through some tough times in their lives with their health. If this can help them and raise money than I think healthy people should take advantage of that because I know some people would be very eager to be out here, instead of the hospital.”
Individual awards were also handed out in three categories: Youngest Climber, Fastest Male, and Fastest Female. The Kordyban Cup was earned by the team who ends with the most fundraising.
April 21st has been officially declared “Climb for Cancer Day” in PG.
