Just in time for Hallowe’en, there’s a horror film festival Thursday night featuring local talent.
Organizer Norm Coyne of “The Screaming Room” says the main event will be a screening of the movie “Evangeline”.
“With all of the films that we’re working with for ‘Screaming Room’, we want films that have a Northern BC focus,” he says. “So, they’re either made by Northern BC film makers, or in Evangeline’s case, there’s an actor from Prince George, who is one of the key characters in the movie.”
“Screaming Room” features seven other short films, such as “Defenseless”, with actors from Barkerville.
“It was an official selection for the Rio Grind festival in Vancouver,” Coyne says. “There’s a film called ‘6 and a Half Pieces , which was a winner at the Whistler HorrorFest.”

“All of the films have some kind of a connection to Northern BC. These are people that you are going to see around town that are pursuing their craft in our area.”
The event starts at 6 p.m. at the Treasure Cove Casino with a costume contest.
