The Hart Highland Ski Hill celebrates milestone

Today marks the 100th day of the Hart Highland Ski Hill being opened this season, beating out the record of 98 days set back in 1996-1997.

President Bernadette Kipping says she’s excited they were able to reach triple digits for this winter, especially on Easter long weekend.

“It’s really exciting to see our lift line as full as they are, but maybe that’s because of all the free candy we have for the kids, along with the nice dump of snow we received yesterday(Friday).”

To celebrate, workers hid Easter treats all around the hill for kids to search for and even had the Easter Bunny show up to help.

The Hill has one snow machine and is planning to purchase another, possibly two, for next season, which will hopefully continue this trend of longer seasons says Kipping.

“If we can start making snow early November we could be skiing by the end of November, or Mid November, it all really depends on the weather. If it’s cold we can make the snow.”

Lift tickets, rentals, and food are all 50 per cent off to celebrate the new record.
