Staples showcases independent female business owners in our community

Local women entrepreneurs were invited to staples in Prince George to showcase their business for International Women’s Day.

This is the 4th year the corporation has held an event to promote the importance of female business owners.

Owner of Just Add Water Bath and Body Creations Amy Heise says having this opportunity to show her work can inspire other women to do the same.

“I think it’s important to show other women that if you have a dream and an idea, to work at it than you can do it. Nothing stopped me, so, I want other people to know they can do it too.”

Heise added any time something like this is offered to her it’s great exposure for her business.

Neil Hodgson, General Manager of Staples, says is a way to carry on the important message of supporting independent women.

“Women entrepreneurs can face barriers that male entrepreneurs don’t, so it’s to help promote that element, to give the people an opportunity to show off their business through a median they don’t normally get to use.”

This years theme for International Women’s Day is ‘Press for Progress’, where they share their cause on social media to promote the importance of women business owners.
