PG’s second annual Coldest Night walk raises more than $40,000

PG’s Coldest Night of the Year for 2018 raised more than $40,000 for the Association Advocating for Women and Children (AWAC).

The second annual event experiences what it’s like to walk in a homeless person’s shoes.

“We’re able to do the two, five, or ten [kilometre] walk and then we know that we’re going to be able to go home to a nice warm house. Whereas the individuals that we are raising this money for don’t have a home to go to so they’re living in this environment 24/7.”

– AWAC Executive Director Connie Abe

Coldest Night saw more than 250 people participate, more than double from 2017.
