Expect delays for PG Transit

PG Transit is feeling to the brunt of the most recent snowfall just as hard as everyone else.

A transit alert released today by the service states all routes may be delayed and transfers may not be able to be accomodated.

“Anytime that there is an adverse weather such as this major snowfall, there can be delays to the system and we are seeing that in Prince George today,” says Communications Manager Jonathyn Dyck.

“The big areas that I’ve been told are affected are Route 15, there’s a little bit of area up there that’s been affected by this, and the other piece that’s been affected is a lot of side roads.

PG Transit has announced Route 161 Burns Lake-PG is been canceled.

There are two tips for riders on days like today, according to Dyck.

“Please be patient. We are working hard to get you where you need to go safely and as best as possible with the roads and weather conditions as they are so please have patience with us,” Dyck explains.

“The other one is please dress appropriately and plan ahead. Make sure that you’re wearing warm clothing and that you’re prepared, and make sure that you’re wearing clothing that can be seen.”

Dyck also mentions if you usually get picked up at a bus stop on a hill to look for one off a hill to make it easier for the bus drivers to pick you up and continue the route.
