PG Crime Stoppers Award Police For Their Efforts

Local mounties in Prince George were awarded for their efforts to support the Crime Stoppers program.

Constable Dong Kwak won officer of the year for continuing to seek out crime stoppers tips to assist with any investigation.

He says he was taken back by the recognition.

“It’s definitely an honour, I didn’t expect it when I was told I was gong to be receiving this award, but really honoured, it’s really rewarding.”

kwak was posted to PG back in February 2014, and was noted to be a very motivated and hardworking individual.

“I’m still a junior member and still have a lot to learn. There is a lot of other great members in our watch.”

The PG Crime Stoppers also congratulated ‘A’ watch, represented by Sargent Paul Collister, for their dedication and highest volume of investigated files.

In 2017, Crime Stoppers received 565 tips from the public, which resulted in 24 arrests, $103,000 in property recovered and $153,750 drugs seized.
