Mount Polley plankton results released

A recent study of plankton in Quesnel Lake shows decent results, months after the Mount Polley mine breach.

The Ministry of Environment says phytoplankton and zooplankton levels tested in the second week of August shows that their food levels are the same as other, similar, large lakes in Canada.

A team of UNBC research staff and the Department of Fisheries are also testing plankton for metal concentrations and those results are expected to be released soon.
