The Cariboo Cougars will be hosting their 3rd annual Mental Health Awareness game tonight in support of the MindRight program.
The Cougars will be sporting special green jerseys in support of mental health.
“It’s really influencing people and raising awareness on the topic of mental health. It’s also elevating conversation because when regular fans come out for example for a Cariboo Cougars game and see green jerseys it starts a conversation that way.” says Founder of MindRight Myles Mattila.
“[MindRight] is pretty much a website to lead people in the right direction. I created it personally because there wasn’t that much resources for athletes and especially hockey players. It’s not so much going on the website and getting help right away, it’s making sure that youth, young adults, and athletes know where to go to if they want to reach out and get help.”
The game takes place at kin 1 starting at 4pm.
