The Hospice Dream Home Lottery Is Just Shy Of Its Goal

The grand prize draw for the Prince George Hospice Dream Home is just one day away.

The society is hoping to sell out 9,999, but there are 1,300 tickets still left for the home.

Special Events Coordinator Sanya Knezevic says there are a couple reason why they still have a lot of tickets.

“This years a little bit different because we’ve had shorter time frame to sell them, as well as increased out ticket count this year. So compared to last year we are trying to sell a thousand more tickets. I think this combined with that I think we are just trying to convey that message to the community.”

This is also the 30th Annual Dream Home Lottery Draw that’s taking place.

the society is happy they’ve been able to run the fundraiser for so long, but it has come with a couple of hurdles says Knezevic.

“As the years go by our operational cost do increase, cause we do have ten beds here and unfortunately our funding has decreased. So every year we have to raise more and more money, which is why the Dream Home Lottery does become so fundamentally important to us.”

All proceeds from the dream home lottery will go to support beds at the rotary hospice house.

The draw takes place Friday, 8PM at the Dream Home in the Nechako View Subdivision.

The winner of the $100,000 Hospice House 50/50 jackpot was also announced Wednesday night.
