Plaid Friday returns to Prince George

Downtown Prince George and Love DowntownPG are teaming together to bring back Plaid Friday tomorrow for the second year.

Plaid Friday is described as the more relaxing counter to Black Friday in America.

Here’s what the festivities are:

  • Downtown stores open late,
  • Free Love DowntownPG Swag Give-Aways for spending $50 or more at participating Downtown stores, restaurants and business,
  • The Downtown Prince George Holiday Shopping Passport program will be launched,
  • Swag and Passports available at The HUBSPACE from 5pm to 8pm,
  • Strolling Carolers,

Downtown PG Executive Director, Colleen van Mook says it’s a good way to support local businesses.

“Downtown is really starting to thrive and we want to show people that they can come downtown and support our businesses, but they can support our economy all at the same time.”

Although the event is called Plaid Friday, you don’t need to wear plaid to participate.

“We think that if people want to wear plaid they will show their support of our local business and of our downtown,” explains van Mook.

“Everybody’s got some plaid in their closet somewhere that they have been dying to wear!”
