Volunteer drivers needed for several holiday weekends

Operation Red Nose is set to kick off for yet another year here in Prince George.

Last year saw almost 260 volunteers providing over a thousand safe rides home in just 9 evenings. Which put the city third out of thirteen communities.

Andrea Johnson is the Operation Red Nose Spokesperson here in Prince George and she says on November the 18th Prince George will be the host site for the BC launch of the program:

“So we’re going to do that at the Civic Plaza at 11 O’clock in the morning, and we are just working out the details but we hope to have our partners, our sponsors, and our volunteers out full force that day to show our support as we get ready to launch Red Nose across the Province”

2010 was the best year to date with nearly 11 hundred rides given, Johnson hopes to surpass that number this year, but says they always need more volunteers.

Those interested can call Karen Toombs at 250-961-6465.
