Days after the BC Utilities Commission released a report on Site C, more reaction is coming in.
This time from Prince George – Valemount MLA Shirley Bond, who, like Nechako Lakes MLA John Rustad, believes the best course of action is to see the project through.
Money is a key point Bond cites as a reason to continue with Site C, saying it would cost billions to cancel the project.
“[The NDP] can cancel the project which would mean writing off $4-billion in construction costs and exiting a number of contracts.
“I am extremely concerned about the loss of jobs and the people who are currently working on that site.”
The provincial government is expected to make a decision on the future of Site C by the end of the year.
