VLA shooting results in dog killed, man shot

Prince George RCMP continue to investigate a shooting over the weekend resulting in a man being shot and a dog being found dead in the VLA.

At around 3AM on Sunday, RCMP received multiple reports of shots being fired on the 2000 block of Tamarack Street.

Multiple officers went to the scene where a deceased dog was found in the driveway and evidence of gunshots both inside and outside the residence.

According to police, the people in the residence seemed unharmed and were uncooperative.

The responsible party had left the scene prior to police arriving and was not found.

At approximately 4:20AM, PG RCMP assisted paramedics on Cuddie Crescent where the 20-year-old caller suffered injuries consistent with being shot.

He was transported to the hospital where he was treated for the non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the man shot was a victim of the shooting on Tamarack and that this was a targeted attack, but there is no evidence the incident is related to the drug trade.

Criminal Code Search Warrants were executed on both residences.

Anyone with information on the incident or who may be responsible is being asked to contact PG RCMP or Crimestoppers.
