The Prince George Cougars drop the puck on their home opener Friday.
Vice President of Business, Andy Beesley says fans can expect a return of the same exciting atmosphere that surged throughout the CN Centre in the 90’s, “When the building was full and the hair on the back of your neck stood up and you got goose bumps coming into the arena, THAT’S what we want to re-create.”
“But having said that, it’s all new, and it’s a brand new fan experience and people are going to be wow’ed by what we have in store,” he says.
He also says the club is worried about intense lineups at CN Centre Friday night ahead of their home opener against the Kelowna Rockets.
“For the last decade, we just haven’t had any lineups to speak of, and I’m quite certain people are going to show up last minute and simply not be able to get into the game,” Beesley says.
Starting at 5 p.m., festivities will feature a tailgate party with a barbecue by donation and a rooftop concert by Prince George’s premier celtic band Out of Alba.
