Guests of the CN Centre in Prince George will notice a new way to purchase their Cougars or concert tickets.
The more than 5,800-seat arena has officially partnered with Tickets North supplied by Paciolan, the second-largest supplier in the world behind Ticketmaster.
Manager Glen Mikkelsen says the agency is already involved with several hockey clubs within the Western Hockey League (WHL).
“The Prince George Cougars has been in contact already with Paciolan; they’re a third-party business from EdgePro Sports and Entertainment and we’re looking to what the different technologies are that they’re able to provide.”
He adds Paciolan is set to bring in more modern technology, leading to efficiency and better ticket fraud awareness.
These include new print-at-home tickets and special ID barcode cards for season ticket holders.
“We definitely see people choosing to use their phones in all kinds of different ways,” says Mikkelsen.
“We certainly need to be ready to embrace that technology as it expands. You know people will soon be relying on their phones to get into their events, so we need to be ready to offer that to our guests.”
Ticketmaster was the previous supplier for the CN Centre, but its contract expired this past summer.
