The first board meeting of the new year for School District 57 will be Tuesday night.
Hot topics for the meeting is mainly directed towards finances.*
In 2017, surplus went up compared to 2016 from $11,977,503 to $15,124,398.
In terms of revenue, the actual outcome for 2017 was higher than the budget projected at $131,872,156. That number also exceeded 2016’s by over $5 million.
Salaries across the board totalled $88,865,679 with just over $50 million going towards teachers’ salaries.
