Pro-wrestling legend Mick Foley is performing a comedy show in Prince George Saturday night.
The show, called “An Evening with Mick Foley” at the Playhouse is a comedy show on the experiences of the hall of fame’r and three-time champion.
Though he came to Prince George once in the late 90’s on a WWE (then WWF) tour, he admits the majority of his experiences in BC have either been in Vancouver or Victoria.
“I’m looking forward to it,” he says. “I’ve got 17 cities in 18 days, it’s the best way to see the world [by car]. I’m going to learn a lot and hopefully earn a lot, too.”
Speaking on pro-wrestling, Foley is best known for being thrown off and through steel cages, being bludgeoned with weapons, losing a ear in the ring and flying through tables (some on fire, some not).
However, he says “hard core” isn’t really about blood and weapons, it’s about giving fans that something extra.
“If anything, they’re giving it more, because some of the hard core things can be used as a short-cut because they were guaranteed reactions,” Foley says.
“It’s kind of like, when I go on stage, I only drop one F-Bomb a show. I do that to maximize. It’s not that I don’t like the F-Bomb, it’s that if I do my job correctly, I’ll get a standing ovation for one word.”
“It is a good show, I’m not going all the way to the other side of the continent to … suck,” he says.
Tickets are available at RealMickFoley.com or Ticket Master.
The show starts at 7 p.m..
