A brand new Limestone Quarry will be opening up near Giscome.
Graymont Incorporated announced the development agreement with the local first nations band earlier this week.
Now that that has been taken care of, Health and Safety Manager Rob Beleutz says the environmental concerns come first and foremost:
“So, we’re in the process of reviewing our studies, and preparing an environmental assessment application, we hope to file our environmental application in the fourth quarter, essentially before the end of year 2014”
Assuming everything goes as planned Graymont expects construction to start in late 2015 and expects operations to begin two years later.
